President Buhari Set To Commission New Petroleum Refinery In Ibigwe, Imo State

President Muhammadu Buhari will be commissioning the new Petroleum Refinery by WalterSmith Limited, located at Ibigwe, IMO state.

The 5,000bpd modular Refinery commissioning is scheduled for October 26, 2020. The refinery will be producing 271 million litres of petroleum products to meet some of the requirement of south eastern market.
Abdulrasaq Isah, Chairman of WalterSmith Petroleum Oil Limited says the project will ensure import substitution, energy security for the nation, lower the company’s operating cost and create lots of employment.
The modular Refinery system is part of Nigeria’s push towards energy sufficiency, and enhancement of value addition to the hydrocarbon resources and employment generation.
