DSS Warn Nigerians Against Nationwide Violent Protests

The Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a stern warning to Nigerians regarding the discovery of plans to stage violent protests in various parts of the country. The agency’s Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, Ph.D, fsi, revealed that intelligence reports have uncovered a plot by certain elements, including politicians, to orchestrate these protests with the aim of discrediting the Federal Government and security agencies.

The DSS has identified key figures involved in this plot and is closely monitoring their activities to prevent any attempts to plunge the nation into anarchy. The agency is taking proactive steps to maintain public peace and ensure that these disruptive plans do not come to fruition.

In response to this alarming development, the DSS is calling on University Vice-Chancellors and Heads of Tertiary Institutions to play a crucial role in discouraging their students from participating in activities that could disrupt public order. Parents and guardians are also urged to counsel their children and wards against getting involved in any actions that go against the principles of law and order.

It’s essential to recognize that the Nigerian government is actively addressing the challenges facing the nation and is committed to finding solutions to various socio-economic issues. Therefore, the DSS advises those individuals and groups contemplating subversive actions to reconsider their intentions. The agency emphasizes that it will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone found involved in these devious plans.

This warning from the Department of State Services serves as a reminder of the importance of peaceful dialogue and constructive engagement in addressing grievances and concerns. Nigerians are encouraged to seek peaceful and lawful avenues to express their views and contribute to the progress and development of the nation.

In these challenging times, unity and cooperation are vital to overcoming the nation’s challenges. The DSS remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians and will continue to monitor and address threats to national stability.
