Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo was given birth to on the 5th of March 1937 in the village of Ibogun-Olaogun to a farming family of the Owu branch of the Yoruba, Obasanjo was educated largely in Abeokuta.
Joining the Nigerian Army he was mainly specialised in engineering where he gave his support in combating as at the Nigerian civil war.
Up till date Obasango has always served Nigeria whole heartedly and has never failed in any part when he was in power.
His late wife Stella Obasanjo was the First Lady of Nigeria from 1999 until her death. She was the wife of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, although she was not the First Lady in 1976, when Obasanjo was military head of state.
She died while undergoing elective liposuction abroad it was dated October 23rd, 2005. During that time, Obasanjo was still in office as President.
